I read this ............ (Plastic will allow the beer to oxidize over time so don't consider that as a lagering vessel)
how many of you guys use plastic for lagering??

Beer in PET bottles can be stored for a year without degradation. Assuming normal procedures like proper conditioning, carbonation, temp storage, away from bright light.

The bottle caps should be replaced eventually. After multiple uses they will wear out. The caps are cheap and readily available.
