Logo Questions

So my friend and I are in the process of opening a brewery and I am trying to come up with a logo for us. I made one up but I got pictures from the internet and someone told me that I can't use it due to copyright laws. I was wondering is there any laws against using a few different pictures from google and then putting them together to make a logo?? Keep in mind this would be on T-shirts and tweaked just a bit to be put on custom pint glasses.

Unless you have permission to use the image, it is illegal.

Ok so I guess it's back to the drawing board then.
