It's been over 6 months since I last got to brew. Getting married took all of my time and money for a little while.

I decided to ease my way back in with my first all grain, my first batch grater than 5 gallons, and I built a mash tun from a cooler and a kettle from a 15 gallon keg.

The only thing I made that didn't work was the grain mill from a pasta roller. :(

My wife's favorite beer is a Hefe, so I decided to try my luck with one of those.

Honeybear Hefeweizen

9 lbs German Wheat
6 lbs German Pilsner
1 lb rice hulls
1 oz Mt. Hood
2 lbs Orange Honey @ 5 mins left in the boil
2 packets of Wyeast Weihenstephan Weizen™ 3068

I hit a 1.044 OG so hopefully I'll get a good hefe out of this.

I'll post pics when it is bottling time. It had a very active fermentation on Monday but it is calm now.

Welcome back to the wonderful world of brewing!

The great thing about starting off with a Hefe, is it'll be ready to drink sooner than most. Hopefully it'll remind you why you got into brewing in the first place. :mug:
