Does anyone have a good (extract with spec grains) recipe for a belgian blonde type ale? I'm thinking of Affligem Blonde. I love that beer, but it's expensive! I have a basic recipe from the homebrew store, but it sounds a little too basic:

6 lbs pale LME
1 lb clear belgian candi sugar
1.5 oz crystal hops (boil)
1.0 oz crystal hops (flavor/aroma)
1 vial WL Belgian Ale liquid yeast

Any improvements?

Actually, I bet that recipe would make a credible "clone." Belgian's are largely about the yeast and the fermentation temps, IMHO

I think maybe there is a recipe for Affigem in Clone Brews.

there is a recipe in clone brews.

as cweston said, the complexity of belgian ales comes from the yeast and brewing methods, not the ingredients per se'. For more complexity I'd consider using a little aromatic malt, but not much. with extract it will be hard to get it to the apropriate color, it will be darker, but the taste will be similar. I'd consider using styrian goldings for your hops. they are the traditional hop for this newer style (belgian blonde).
