Really like the taste of new belgiums black ale, 1554. Want to try and brew an extract batch of it. Austin home brew sells a kit, but sells lager yeast with it. Can you use lager yeast without cold fermenting or should I stick to a German ale yeast?

Tommorrow is brew day for a Heifweizen, using the northern brewers extract kit. Anyone have any special advice, not found in the instructions?

This forum is a great tool. I am glad a friend recommended it.

If u cant ferment low, i wouldnt use a lager yeast. I have used Wyeast2112 on the cold side and did give me good lager like results.

Ok. I can ferment at about 65-70, would that be cold enough? Nice to know. Thank you.
