Well I got the results of my first brew competition. I entered 3 beers and my Bourbon Barrel Porter scored 38 out of 50 and placed second in its category. my Octoberfest was middle of the road and my third beer bombed. It is a great platform for someone who is not sure if their beer is good or not. Everyone seems to like the beers even the one that bombed, but EVERYONE ALWAYS LIKES FREE BEER. Great input from the judges and something to build on.:)

I try and send samples of each batch to at least 2 competitions. I really enjoy getting the feedback, but I find myself getting in the habit of brewing the same things over and over again trying to perfect them. I need to do a better job at branching out.

Winning medals is really fun too.

still haven't done this - i'm afraid what i think are spectacular beers will be panned... lol.
