I purchased 25l of 100% pure apple juice with nothing added except vitamin C. First question is this going to be ok to use? Next question is do I put it in a Plastic pail for the first bit to do it's thing or put it direct into a carboy to do it thing? Of course racking after a while to help clear it up some.

As far as I knw (still learning!), the apple juice will work fine (Though better quality juice/cider would give better results) and you can ferment in either container. I've only used carboys so far with no real problems as long as you keep a bit of head room at the start and top up later.

either way. it's more convenient to ferment in the bucket and rack into the carboy rather than ferment in the carboy, transfer to the bucket and then back into the cleaned carboy
