Queen of Beer competition is coming up again and the Queen is brewing a beer today all by herself. All I have to do is sit around, drink beer and heckle, gonna be a grand day. She entered an ESB last year, but she had too much hops, it did not place, but I got to drink in all. :mug:

She is brewing a Robust Porter and I looked at her invoice and plugged the grain bill into www.beertools.com and if she gets the same Brewhouse Efficiency as I do, she should end up with an ABV of 10.3% She will have to enter it into the specialty category as an Imperial Robust Porter.

Well, the Queen watered down her wort and lowered the OG to 1.086
Now it will only be about 9% ABV beer :mad:
She wants it to do good in the Queen of Beer Competition :mad::mad:

I will have to brew the next test batch so it will be at least 10% AVB and be worthy to be called a Republic of TEXAS Beer!:ban:
I hope we can afford to maintain a 10% minimum threshold. LOTS of grain! Lot of chaching going into the mash tun!
