I was looking at the weldless fittings and got to thinking it looks like a lot of weight to be suspended by the thin wall of a SS pot. (Looking at a Bayou classic pot.)

Does turning the valve cause leaking?
Would a support bracket be a good idea? Thinking of attaching it to the bolts on a 3 piece ball valve.

I've got two of the Bayou pots and yes they do have thin walls. However I've never had a problem with them leaking where my weldless ball valves are.
However I have had small leaks where the handles are riveted to the kettle. Not a big deal though.
