While not a direct clone, this recipe I brewed reminded me heavily of Black Top. Very, very hoppy, with just enough roast and toast character from the malt to let you know it was not a straight IPA. It is one of my favorite homebrews so far.

It is also in my dropdown.

No idea what they do at New Glarus but here's my personal Black IPA recipe:

Recipe: CCCA (Cascadian Dark Ale)
Brewer: PhelanKA7
Style: Specialty Beer
TYPE: All Grain

Notes:
Appearance: Deep but see-thru mahogany body. Off white head. Good lacing and a creamy head.
Aroma: Maple syrup notes along with dark fruits and alcohol. Sugared plums in brandy. Hint of pine resin.
Palate: Velvety smooth. Slightly gooey but not overly so. Creamy. Not dry.
Flavor: Sweet with a hint licorice. Floral hops up front. Finishes with black "irish" coffee and pine notes. Some alcohol.
