3 weeks ago I brewed what was to be a chocolate/coffee sweet stout. But the last time I did a sweet stout it was to sweet to me so I left out the lactose. So I guess that makes it just a chocolate/coffee stout. Fermenting was done OG of 071 and FG = 014. OG way outta range for the standard, but my effecincy was 5% higher that BeerSmith was set for.

I bottled today with 2/3 cup of 100% Ka`u Hawaiian coffee cold brewed in the 1.6 gallons of brew. Taste is pretty strong coffee, don't feel the chocolate at all. Maybe I need to up the coco next time.

I got 16 bottles and a few oz left to sip. Can't wait until it's done conditioning. I bought some Ka`u 100% Hawaiian coffee some time ago and SWMBO didn't use any so I decided to try it out. Ka`u is the extreme southern end of the Big Island of Hawai`i and there is a Green Sand Beach at the very tip of the island. Hence the name.

Sounds yummy. IBUs a bit low but I'd still love to taste it.

Couldn't wait any longer especialy w/the sour beers I've been getting. This one is good right now but it's only been a week, but needs more time. The coffee is THERE, but hard to find the chocolate. Think I'll up the cocoa next time. Will do this again soon.
