I managed to force my 3/16 beer line over my 1/4 disconnects...any forseeable issues?

However, oddly enough, I couldn't get the same line over the 1/4 inch tailpieces for the shanks...strange...

i would still always use a hose clamp, no matter how tight the fit. Its a 50cent insurance policy. The lines will go on fairly easy if you pre heat them in a cup of boiling water for 20-30 seconds.

Done the same, but also used clamps. Had to heat the tubing up a bit to get it forced onto the fittings. That being said, I can't see this tubing coming off the fittings without clamps while under normal beer serving pressure.
