Graduating Senior Arrested, Handcuffed at Commencement for Flipping the Bird

ht_arabtribune_080609_mn.jpg

FAIL

wait, so they arrested him for cursing and throwing the bird? I smell something fishy....

Wow - that is seriously impressive. I call fail on everybody involved - the principal, the student and the arresting officers. I mean, what are you going to do when somebody gives a tirade like that, but arresting him in front of everybody and his family is a little far...

I'd actually prefer the other kids just beat the **** out of him for being such A d-bag. That way he learns a lesson and nothing serious comes of it.

SC is no better. They arrested 7 people in the audience of graduation for cheering when the names were called out

The restrictions on graduating ceremonies have gotten a bit ridiculous in the last few years. (Maybe it's always been that way, but I graduated in a class of 12, so we were allowed to toss our caps and have people clap). I would think that as a student you should be allowed some form of expression after spending the last 13 years in school, and as a parent/friend you shouldn't be sent to jail because you are proud of someone.

He needs to get the hell out of that po-dunk little town and get on with his life. Compared to the opportunities and challenges he'll face as an adult what happens in High School is insignificant. I just hope this little episode doesn't create a paper-trail that holds him back.
