I am taking two corneys full of the good stuff (already chilled to about 43) on a 5 hour trip. I would prefer not to have to buy a trashcan to keep them cold along the way...just another cost.

Question:

For a 5 hour trip, is it ok to not put it on ice, then throw it on ice and serve when I get there? What other clever ways have you done this to serve soon (tie a trash bag with ice around it)

Although it should be obvious, watch what you put them on. I buckled a few into my back seat. The infamous black gunk is now all over my tan leather... I should try to clean that today.

I put one in a round igloo cooler minus the lid (my old mt), added some ice and wrapped it in a blanket. Another I wrapped in my wifes exercise mat, then a blanket. About a 6 hour trip, they both did ok.
