Just checked again, and was excited to get the first page that asked for birth date...

...only to find this...

It's clear that everyone is excited for St. Patrick's Day! Our "Get Your St. Pat's Pints" glassware offer was a big hit. In the last few days, we saw a lot of unexpected and unusual activity surrounding the promotion and we went through our supply of George Killian’s pint glasses even more quickly than anticipated. Although the offer has ended, we're glad so many of you will be drinking Killian's in style this year. You will receive an email soon confirming whether or not you submitted your code before supplies ran out. Thanks for drinking Killian's. Cheers!

:(

Oh well. It is not like the glasses would actually ever have any Killian's in it.

Just home brew!

In other words: "Thanks to all who submitted their names, addresses, email addresses, and other personal information. We really only had a couple dozen glasses to give out and regret to inform you that you were just gamed.

While you will never see any pint glasses, look forward to receiving lots of Canadian Viagra spam offers and a little extra junk mail as we sell your information to various 3rd parties. Cheers!"

I am moving at the end of April, and have way too many pint glasses...probably around 200. I get them from a local bar that has a pint glass promotion every Thursday, and I generally always go...sometimes the wifey joins (which means we come home with 2). All them have brewery logos on them. After I go through them, sort out the ones I don't want, and any duplicates I would be willing to give some away. If you are in the Newnan, GA area and want some, PM me and let me know.

I'm to lazy to look it up. How far are you from St. Marys.

Spammers for viagra emails and such don't buy email lists from companies like that. I don't know why everybody thinks this is the case. Those lists can be made for free with a few simple tools. That's where emails without unsubscribe links come from.

I played with them years ago. It was possible to scan out thousands of email addresses per hour on dialup using these tools. They'd send email requests to big-name servers and if the address was invalid, the server would say so immediately. Brute force only got so many, but most spammers use large dictionary lists to much better effect.

If it has an unsub link, yeah, you were probably on a list that was "leased" to the highest bidder.

Just got this in my email :(

Yup,just got the dear chump letter at 1:28pm today. Shoulda figured two glasses of that quality wasn't going to happen. Dang.:(

Got my email today too! Oh well, I'm not a fan of their beer and have plenty of good glasses to drink from so no big loss!

Yup, the GF and I both got the email. On the upside, neither one of us has seen an increase in spam.

Maybe next year...

Just got this in my email :(

This is going to be interesting. Jeepin posted in HBT one minute after I did. I'm post #40 @8:42, and Jeep posted #42 @8:43. I haven't received a notice yet. One way or the other.

4:00 PM on tuesday. No email yet.

I did however receive some spam inviting me to "super size" my member.

Oh see, I thought it was just me. Figured it was too good to be true. Killian's is just Coors with red food coloring anyway. They can keep it.

This is kind of shady to me. For those of us that completed the offer and received the "Your Glasses are on the way" message they should honor the offer and send us our glasses. It wasn't until after they discovered they took too many orders that they posted the "Hey, wait for an email to see if you submitted your order in time" message. I doubt they are "out of glasses" or can't get any more. But alas, it's not worth the effort to fight.

I got that same email today. Not that I would, but I will never drink another Miller based beer. Sorry for getting your hopes up, guys. Please dont shoot the messenger.

I was told mine was cancelled. I will simply never buy a Miller Coors product again. So I guess it isn't a big loss for either party. As you see below I can make my own anyway.

I was post #6 and got my NO GLASSES FOR YOU! email

I got the original "Your glasses are on the way" confirmation, and then got the "Sorry we don't have enough glasses" email today. No biggie to me. It's two labeled pint glasses, and I'll be okay without them. Does it suck that I got a confirmation, then a denial? Yes. It it like is asked the hottest girl to prom, and got stood up? No. Will I still drink my Champagne of Bottled Beer? Hell yes! Can I unsubscribe from unwanted emails? Definitely!

"unexpected and unusual activity surrounding the promotion"
I found this statement in my email interesting .
I sent them a nasty email back. I am sure it went in the bit bucket but it made me feel better.
Then I grabbed a good beer. :tank:

Perhaps the reason why I did not get the email is because I rarely fill out my real email address when giving out info online. My email was likely [email protected]. This is one that I like to use.

They did however get my real mailing address.

I got the rejection today as well. Crappy way to run a contest. They knew how many glasses they had to send out. It's pretty easy to shut the site down when that number is reached.

Yeah, I got the same message too.

Again, Im sorry guys...if I would have known they would pull this stunt, I wouldnt have posted it

No sweat, man. It's not your fault they're *****ebags. Makes me glad I HB/buy only craft beer all the more. :mug:

I did not get my glasses, they said they were out of them. Bull#*^%, I got my order in only a few days after the promotion started. I wonder if they sent any of them out, or if this is some kind of test to find out the public's interest level.

Here is the email I sent to Coors. Maybe if we all raise a stink then they will make good on the promise!

Hello,

I have been a constant consumer of Coors/Miller beers since I was of age to drink. My mom and dad only drank Coors and Coors light when I was growing up. I am now a business banker at a national bank and know the struggles that businesses go through as they maneuver each phase of maturity. One thing is certain, brand name, and the image of that brand name are very important to any successful business. I am writing you because I recently entered into a promotion that one of your sister companies, George Killians was hosting. The promotion was for two free pint glasses. I was asked to enter all of my information including address and email to validate my entry to this promotion. I was given a message that said " your glasses are on the way!" However, a few days later I got an email that said they were not going to send any pint glasses. This did not happen to me only, it happened to many people on a beer forum that I subscribe to. It also happened to some friends of mine, who I told about the promotion. There are a lot of people who feel as if their was never any intent to send out any glasses and a lot of negative publicity for your great corporation. As I am sure you know, it costs seven times as much to gain a new customer as it does to retain an existing one. Many will not take the time and effort to write to you and give you the chance to make things right with them, however, I am. I would ask that you please send me the pint glasses that I was promised in this promotion. You will have one more advocate for your business out there on the streets if you do. Please contact me and let me know if you would like to honor your aforementioned promise. Thanks and have a great day.

I got the dump today, too. Oh well, I have too many pint glasses already, and killians is crappy beer.
