Hey all,

I am brewing a brown ale recipe from off this site that calls for oats. I have already bought them, and my brew shop is closed today so I cant get anything to partial mash them with. So what should I do?

a) "steep" them knowing they wont convert

b) leave them out and dont worry about it

c) can I boil and strain, then add to wort?

d) I am up for suggestions

If you're committed to brewing today and considering its a brown ale recipe (not an oatmeal stout), I'd opt for leaving them out. I think the other options will add a lot of extra proteins and not the character desired.
