Mostly what kind of flavor does the Golden Promise compare to 2-Row?

Also can Vienna and Munich be treated as a base malt???

And question 3. how do you make an amber?? This is just in terms of color. I don't have beersmith as this is being typed from a university computer. I want to create an amber that is the same color as Killians.

So how would this be for an amber????

At 75% Mash at 151 F

7 lbs Golden Promise
2 lbs Munich
.75 lbs CaraRed

1 oz Williamette FWH
.5 oz Centennial 10 mins
.5 oz centennial 0 mins
1 oz Williamette dry-hopped

1. Golden Promise would be a "sweeter" flavor than pale malt (2-row/6-row)

2. Yes

3. There are numerous ways to make an amber and numerous different ambers. If you want to brew close to killians, you could probably find a clone.

Here are a few links that may help:

Thanks. I kind of posted some drunken questions. I don't necessarily want to make a killians but I am more interested in getting a red color. I think that I just need to add about a LB. of some C-60 or CaraRed to 9 lbs. of base malt to get it that deep ruby color that I am looking for.

That malt chart on wiki is very beneficial. Thanks. A little research on my part would have gone a long way. Thanks:ban:
