So I recently moved and noticed I have a white labs liquid yeast vial in my closet after moving, was in the fridge before. It's prob been out of refrigeration a few weeks at most. Yesterday I made a quick starter, very small though, and today I can't tell if it is dead or not. Bottom of container has a layer but not what I was expecting. Would yeast last out of refrigeration this long??

If the vial has been cool, and not subject to temperature swings, you should still have some viable yeast.

Yeah I think there would be some viable yeast as long as its not to hot. Yeast live for months in our fermenters @ 70 degrees.

shack the starter real good... you will see co2 come out of the solution if its working especially if you are not using a stir plate.
