I think Wernesgruner a relatively rare bird here in the states. The only place I've heard that sells it is Aldi, so getting a specific clone might be tough.
IMHO Wernesgruner is a fine example of a classic German Pils. Perhaps you could start with a good Pils recipe and go from there. Maybe Kaiser or some of the other resident experts could help.
In a discussion at the LODO brewing site it was suggested 80 to 90% German Pilsner and 10 to 20% German Munich. Adjust ph with acid malt. Build water to match Pilsen water (brewery close to there). Saaz to bitter to 25 IBU and another 4 IBU at 20 min or so. I think some who played with it used 34/70 yeast .. Others a German lager strain from white or WY.
