I'm a newbie home brewer. I bought a number of screw top plastic bottles. I was wondering if I decide to age beer how long would beer last in a plastic bottle versus a glass capped bottle?. I plan to keep beer I make in my basement. Thank you

We homebrewrs aren't as immaculate wit' keepin the oxygen outta teh beer. So We ushly drinks in withink sex months. But if you must ask.. it won't last six months anyway. Forget strong beers coz they take too long to age.

Eee bah gum!

You can reuse collared (not threaded) brown beer bottles. I save all of my Sierra Nevada bottles as well as some longnecks; soak, scrap, sanitize. It's a bit of work but MUCH better than buying bottles. I, myself have never used plastic to bottle, sounds a little scary. Plastic can imbue off-flavors over time as it is permeable to oxygen. Hope this helps...
