Does anyone have any opinions/comments on using a Payne Controller for the boil kettle. I am looking at the 18TB -2 -25, it is rated at 25A-5900W @ 240V. I understand it wont do all the things a PID will do but I am only going to be using this in the BK.

For my BK I am just using an infinite switch from an old stove. IMHO a controller for a BK is wicked overkill. Full bore to boil, bring it down to med for a roller, just like on a stove.:mug:

As long as the switch is rated for the wattage and amps that it will have to contend with... I dont see why you cant.
