Hey all,

I'm still a beginner I guess, I've turned out an IPA and two ales. They've all tasted great, but none of them have had enough carbonation. I'm bottle conditioning for a week, at around 70-75, a little warmer than where I keep my fermentors.

Should I let it condition longer in the bottle?

Should I bottle condition in a cooler place?

Not all of my beers have been flat, some have had a decent amount of carb, but not that frothy head I'm looking for.

Ideas?

Thanks!

1. Yes (three weeks is a good rule of thumb)
2. If possible, closer to 70 would be better, even a touch lower

Assuming you are using the right amount of priming sugar, full carbonation usually occurs after three weeks. Cracking before that, in my experience, it hit or miss. The beer will taste better for being aged two more weeks, as well.

Thanks! after reading a few posts, it looks like 3 weeks is the deal. The kit I got (I'm in Hawaii) and the book it came with said only 1, so obviously this is my problem.

Thanks!
