Starting my second batch from scratch. Im making a bavarian style wheat with some guidence from my local brew supply. My OG was 1.070 which was a little higher than I anticipated. What can I expect my FG to be. And will this higher OG take longer than say an OG of 1.060 which my amber started at last time, and took aproximatly 12 days in the primary fermenter.

6lbs briess bavarian wheat malt
1-1/2lbs crystal 55
1/2lb chocolate
2oz northern brewer hops 8%
dry ale yeast

Tried to keep it simple.

If you made a 5 gallon batch your 1.070 reading is wrong, it should be around 1.049. I'm ignoring your OG unless you tell me the volume was different. For a 5 gallon batch I'd say 1.012-14.

I hardly ever take an OG reading when brewing with extract. I just use a calculated measurement. I almost always take a final gravity reading and have gotten where I can predict it within a couple points based on the recipe.
