I've brewed 2 beers(stout, porter). Only used a plastic primary both times. Sanitized thoroughly and I taste a bitter, almost sour after taste in both. I can taste the difference in the beers themselves but they both have the same bitter aftertaste. Any suggestions?

Need complete details of your process from beginning to end. Plastic fermenters don't contribute off flavors.

EDIT: Let me clarify, properly cleaned and sanitized plastic fermenters don't contribute off flavors. It's probably coming from some other aspect of your process.

The main questions I have are:
- All-grain or extract?
- What water did you use? How was it prepared?
- How much yeast was pitched?
- At what temperature was the beer fermented (ambient or beer temperature?)
