This is a somewhat well known commercial offering. Again I would take either BJCP listing, a non BJCP beer style, or the actual name of the commercial beer if you are somehow able to know that.
 
Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron? It's kind of an Imperial Brown, "Strong dark ale aged in 10,000 gallon barrels crafted from Paraguayan Palo Santo wood."

I would have taken imperial brown, wood aged beer for the BJCP style, or, obviously, what you said.

Nope and yes.

It's a classic "style" that has found a renaissance in it's original region as well as in the US.
