I have been looking at several options for all grain brewing. Is there a significant difference between Stainless Steel mash tuns versus Aluminum mash tuns? Do they create different tastes, properties in your brew? Has anyone done any research on this?

Do a search for Aluminum vs Steel, or "Is aluminum ok." It is a widely debated topic, but I beleive the majority of us feel that aluminum is safe for brewing usage. I use and have had no problems

Stainless steel: shiny an expensive

Aluminum: cheap and adequate

I see no reason to spend the money on stainless unless you like shiny things and have money to burn.

I got a 7.5g aluminum turkey fryer with burner for $70. The same stainless pot would cost well over $150 for the pot alone

you dont even have to search; the second sticky thread down is about this very subject. its a sticky because it gets asked about once every 12 hours.
