Read the reviews, but wanted to see if anyone here has made Northern Brewer's Chocolate Milk Stout kit? Got the boyfriend home brewing equipment for Christmas (shhhhhhhhhh) and he LOVES chocolate stouts. Comes with chocolate extract... is this okay to use, or would it be better to use nibs/powder instead?

Anybody have experience making this?

I've heard good things about it. People who I talked to regarding it says it is similar to Left Hand Milk Stout. I just did one of my own with nibs and it seems to have a more authentic chocolate taste, but we will see what happens in secondary/conditioning.

If he is just starting out, I'd say go for it. Definitely a good beer to make for yourself.
