Keg fermentor

Just did my first batch fermenting in corny keg. Have tubing hooked to gas in line going to water bucket. I assumed it should be on that fitting vs the out port. Anybody tell me if i am right?

You did it right. The "Out" runs through a dip tube, so for blow-off the gas "In" is the correct choice.

otherwise you are going to push all your fermenting beer into the bucket as soon as you build up pressure!
unless you are going to do pressurized transfer you can take the long 'out' dip tube out, for ease of cleaning later. either put a small 'in' tube in its place or just put the poppet back on with no dip tube. it won't seal correctly but it will screw down tight and keep anything from getting in.
