How do you make a GF starter? I'm familiar with using DME but now that I'm brewing GF I'm not sure what to use? Thanks

Im sure you could use some sorghum syrup that would substitute for DME. Just find a LME conversion to make a starter around 1.040

I make my starters with Briess' White Sorghum Syrup 45 DE. I use 4 ozs of sorghum in 32 ozs water. This gives me a starting gravity of 1.035.

Sorghum syrup is the easiest, but I just madea starter with a little millet that I ground and "mashed" in a french press.
