Hi
A friend of mine has started brewing. He made a TINY 1gal batch from an IPA kit and he said the beer was quite bad.
I didn't make too many extract batches, since I went AG after a few.
However, he did ask me to formulate an IPA recipe for him.
1gal batch IPA:
--------------
0.2 lbs. American Caramel 40°L
1.5 lbs. Liquid Light Extract
0.25 oz. Cascade (Pellets, 5.5 %AA) boiled 60 minutes.
0.25 oz. Cascade (Pellets, 5.5 %AA) boiled 20 minutes.
0.5 oz. Cascade (Pellets, 5.5 %AA) boiled 5 minutes.
Yeast: Fermentis US-05 Safale US-05
I think its an OK recipe for a first beer , right? I wanna keep it simple for him.
comments?
