I made my first sausage today. Well technically I started yesterday but discovered the meat was way to lean so I stopped by a Mexican meat market here in town and got a pound of pork fat to grind into it. I honestly don't think I will buy breakfast sausage ever again. Next week I will try some Italian sausage. Shortly after I will try my own ground beef. Now I guess I should look into the grinder attachment for my kitchenAid.

The KA grinder is ok if you don't have a lot to do. If you have hopes of doing more than five pounds batches, get a dedicated grinder. :)

I've been using my KA grinder for 25 years now, and typically make 30+ lbs of sausage at a time. It's always worked fine for me...

Not saying it doesn't work, it just takes more time. I'm also spoiled by a whole horsepower grinder at work.
I do not like the sausage tube for the KA. I would get a sausage stuffer over a grinder...
