I did my first batch sparge last night rather than fly sparging. With all the new things going on I forgot to add both my yeast nutrient and whirlfloc to the boiling wort.

I think it is too late to add whirlfloc..... but is it too late to boil a cup of water with the yeast nutrient and pitch it in the wort?

Yeah, wort was in the upper 70s when I pitched and I only boiled around a cup and a half of water. I was surprised to see that the yeast nutrient did not fully dissovle in the water. Instead it turned it a thin, mily white color. I thought that was interesting.

Fermentation started quickly and active fermentation ended after 5 days or so. OG was 1.058. Yeast was harvested wlp007.
