I've watched it a couple times. Good times. I'm going to force my kitchen to listen to it. We will quote it for hours and sing it out randomly. It will be a great time on the line.

I wonder what I am missing now. Does it get better towards the end? I moved on.

You know you have good coworkers when someone can yell Open Condom Style and nearly everyone does the little jockey dance... Yes, I love my minions!

Just saying.. If I'd seen this video before PassedPawn posted it. Might have ignored it.

As far as I'm concerned. The only guy on HBT to pass this off to our Home Brew Town community is PP.

Somebody already said that. (CheezyD) something like, and I'm not quoting even if using the q-marks. - "if anybody but PP posted this I'd ignore it"

Nice job Pappy. Always real and keeping things fun!

141 million views. And accelerating. I've heard that 14% of all internet traffic in the world right now is this video. It just passed porn.

I hope to god you made that up. If it is true, then I blame you.

If I style partied like I used to I would get all my old dj friends to play this. It would be exactly like the high school prom scenes in teen movies where everybody clears out and people do a choreographed dance to it.

all i can say is wow. Its was entertaining and someone needs to invent an open condom style

It is a time honored BJCP style.

Right between English ESB and Baltic Porter.

Style: OPEN CONDOM

Aroma: Moderate sweetness (often with light notes of honey and/or vanilla flavored prophelactics) with light, grainy, spicy wheat aromatics, often with a bit of tartness. Moderate perfumy coriander, often with a complex herbal, spicy, or peppery or siemen note in the background. Moderate zesty, citrusy orangey fruitiness. A low spicy-herbal hop aroma is optional, but should never overpower the other characteristics, such as the mild plastic condom flavor. No diacetyl. Vegetal, celery-like, or ham-like aromas are inappropriate. Spices should blend in with fruity, floral and sweet aromas and should not be overly strong.

Appearance: Very pale straw to very light gold in color. The beer will be very cloudy from starch haze and/or yeast/spent siemen, which gives it a milky, whitish-yellow appearance. Dense, white, moussy head. Head retention should be quite bad.

Flavor: Pleasant sweetness (often with a honey and/or vanilla character) and a zesty, orange-citrusy fruitiness. Refreshingly crisp with a dry, often tart, finish, usually preferred by females. Can have a low wheat flavor. Optionally has a very light lactic-tasting sourness. Herbal-spicy flavors, which may include coriander and other spices, are common should be subtle and balanced, not overpowering. A spicy-earthy hop flavor is low to none, and if noticeable, never gets in the way of the spices. Hop bitterness is low to medium-low (as with a Hefeweizen), and doesn’t interfere with refreshing flavors of fruit and spice, nor does it persist into the finish. Bitterness from orange pith should not be present. Vegetal, celery-like, ham-like, or soapy flavors are inappropriate. No diacetyl.

Mouthfeel: Heavy to medium chewy body, often having a smoothness and light creaminess from unmalted wheat and the occasional...........you know. Despite body and creaminess, finishes dry and often a bit tart. Effervescent character from high carbonation. Refreshing, from carbonation, light acidity, and lack of bitterness in finish. No harshness or astringency from orange pith. Should not be overly dry and thin, nor should it be thick and heavy.

Overall Impression: A refreshing, elegant, tasty, moderate-strength wheat-based ale. May cause unwanted pregnancies.

Comments: The presence, character and degree of spicing and lactic sourness varies. Overly spiced and/or sour beers are not good examples of the style. Coriander of certain origins might give an inappropriate ham or celery character. The beer tends to be fragile and does not age well, so younger, fresher, properly handled examples are most desirable. Most examples seem to be approximately 5% ABV.

History: A 40-year-old beer style that died out in the 1980s; it was later revived by Some crazy Korean Bastard, and has grown steadily in popularity over time.

Ingredients: About 50% unmalted wheat (traditionally soft white winter wheat) and 50% pale barley malt (usually Pils malt) constitute the grist. In some versions, up to 5-10% open condoms may be used. Spices of freshly-ground coriander and Curaçao or sometimes sweet orange peel complement the sweet aroma and are quite characteristic. Other spices (e.g., chamomile, cumin, cinnamon, Grains of Paradise) may be used for complexity but are much less prominent. Ale yeast prone to the production of mild, spicy flavors is very characteristic. In some instances a very limited lactic fermentation, or the actual addition of lactic acid, is done.

Vital Statistics: OG: 1.044 – 1.052
IBUs: 10 – 20 FG: 1.008 – 1.012
SRM: 2 – 4 ABV: 4.5 – 5.5%

Commercial Examples: Hoegaarden OC Wit, St. Bernardus Blanche Cum, Celis White, Vuuve 5 Condom Reserve, Brugs condombier (Blanche de Brugescum), Witteabrencondum, Allagash White splooge, Blanche de Penis, Ommegod spray Witte, Avery White uncovered Rascal, Unibroue Blanche de Condomeless, Sterkens Seimen White Ale, Bell’s Winter Snuggle White Ale, Victory Whirlwind Witbier de largo sprayed siemen, Hitachino Cum White Ale

It is currently playing on the major top 40 radio station in Orlando, FL. Nearly drove off the road.

Not sure if this was mentioned but he was on the Today show performing it live and said the song is about the rich folk who live (south I think?) of the Gangnam river and how to imitate them. He said the dance came from watching a horse (which explains the horses). He seemed like a nice guy.

In an interesting article its mentioned that he has been busted in the past for marijuana, which would make him quite the rebel in South Korea.

Interesting point, by the way, apparently coffee is expensive in South Korean, so to be seen drinking it is a status symbol. The girl he wants in the video "drinks coffee" which is his way of saying "superficial little twit." Its pretty interesting.

Yeah, I was reading an article about it. There is actually a term to describe a woman that eats ramen(or something like it) at home to be able to be seen drinking Starbucks in public.

Damn. I was about to go to bed now I don't think I'll be able to with that beat in my head. Very entertaining.

Looks like he will be performing the song on the Ellen DeGeneres show today. There is a write up about the song from the associated press today.
