Planning my Pumpkin ale for this fall.

Typical bill...
6lb 2-row
2lb Munich
1lb Victory
1lb Dark Brown Sugar
1lb Wheat
.75lb Special B
.5lb C80

Pumpkin + Pie Spice

Perle and Spalt (saaz maybe) as the hops.

Do you think the Special B will fit in here?

Special B is a really highly caramelized grain. There's Caramel 20, 40, etc - I've always heard Special B is the next one in the scale past Caramel 120.

Can you explain what Special B is?

As stated above it's almost like a really dark Crystal Malt. In the extreme, think of Arrogant Bastard. This is speculation but it's said that Arrogant Bastard is 2-row and Special-B, with Chinook for the hops.
