Never read a cider book, learned pretty much anything and everything from here. I would just get both and add them to your collection!

I have the Annie Proulx book, it is quite practical with plenty of good info and also well written. Bear in mind that these books are mainly about making cider from apples, though there is also plenty of info that relates to using store bought juice. If you just intend to use bought juice there will be more info on the net, including this forum. If you want to learn about pressing apples youtube is a great resource, you can watch a cider press in action. A video is worth a thousand words.

Thanks for all the feedback. My parents are moving to an area known for its apples, so I was hoping to make fresh cider. I will need to invest in/make a press.

I think I'll get the Proulx book, mostly because it's cheaper and I'm broke :D
