hostmonster.com they had the best deal for my site and offer quite a few ways of managing your content to just incase you aren't familiar with web development or just don't have the time.

I host mine on my own server, but I've got experience with GoDaddy and would recommend them.

I'd also recommend to AVOID a company called DoorHost. They were great when I signed up with them but their service dropped to crap by the time I left and I had tons of problems with them afterwards.

For those of you using a hosting service to hose your sites, could you recommend someone you are happy with?
How advanced are you looking to get? If you're happy with just a basic one for keeping a journal for friends and family to look at then you might be fine with something like Yahoo!'s 360°, or maybe a MySpace. If you want a little more freedom, but still want a free hosted service, and that has more freedom to post whatever you like, as well as allowing advertising then you might like Blogspot via Google. I have used both, and am having fun with the Blogspot service now.

I assume the next level would be to start your own website, but I haven't quite gotten to that point myself yet, so I can't really help you out there.

Just for reference:
My Yahoo! 360° blog: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/xlsport
then there's the newer Blogspot one: http://fatduc.blogspot.com/
