vienna for me, though isn't their such a thing as an Oktoberfest style that is more quaffable than most other lagers?

I plan to have a Helles, a Marzen, and a wheat. But we will see if I can find the brewing cash in the next couple of weeks to give the lagers enough time! Happy brewing!

Marzan would be the traditional....but I sure love a nice Dunkleweizen!
I brewed up 10g of that last weekend. It'll be tough to wait 2.5 months to start drinking it, but hopefully I have enough in the queue to keep my busy drinking until then.
i picked helles, because...well...i love helles and really want to make one myself

I love me a Helles! Also, I understand Helles is the primary beer at THE Oktoberfest in Munich these days... so perhaps it's neo-traditional.

I meant traditionally German, but yeah the Helles is big at O'fest...
