5 lb 2-row
1 lb Crystal 60L
0.75 lb crystal 80L
Hops:
2 oz Galena (60 min) 13.2 AA
1 Ounce Chinook (25 min) 15.6 AA
1 Ounce Cascade (25 min) 6.2 AA
2 Ounce Citra (20 min) 12 AA
1 Ounce Cascade (5 min) 6.2 AA
1 Ounce Chinook Dry Hop (5 day) 15.6 AA
ABV - 8.5%
This beer was a sorta throw-it-together when friends came over to brew, with a desire to use C-hops for flavor. It turned out exceptionally well, without a lot of work on my part. US-05 provided a beautifully clean finish. Flavor starts nice and fruity tropical, which quickly turns to a nice biscuity malt. It finishes with a slight piney flavor and aroma from the chinook. Surprisingly, there is no heat from the alcohol, which is hidden behind the maris otter flavor.
