I've never made a scotch ale, and have only tried a handful, most of which I've liked...but Arcadia's Scotch Ale blew me away. I think it's the mildness of it, it's very mild & drinkable, but VERY flavorful!

I'm figuring this might be a mid range scotch ale, like a 70/- or 80/- at best...not sure though. Anybody tried this, that can offer any ideas? Doesn't really have to be a clone, just something really smooth. There doesn't seem to be much info out there on it.

Thanks!

I've never brewed one myself, so can't offer much of my own advice. I'd check out these two threads and see if they sound close to what you're looking for:

Thanks for they links. It seems like this brew is really just about getting a nice subtle malt characteristic, either by carmelizing the runnings, or a subtle blend of specialty malts, high mash temp for residual sweetness, and low fermentation temp for a clean finish with the scottish yeast.

I still wish there was more info available on this particular beer, but I guess I can always just make one and compare, and just make my adjustments from there.
