I don't have a mash tun. Is there anything else I could use to act as a mash tun
 
Yea never thought of that. That could be easier to use than a bag!

I don't think there is anything easier than a bag. One pot, full volume of water for the mash, drain the bag, squeeze out whatever wort you can and you are ready for the boil.
 
Busted myth. Squeezing does not release tannins. I would watch using full volume though until you get into water chemistry. PM me for more in this if you would like.
