I started a little over 1.080 and now I'm at about 1.060 and I noticed it smelled funny and I sampled it and it was like sweet vomit.

How long ago did you pitch your yeast? 1.060 has a TON of sugar still in solution and will definitely taste sweet. Not to mention, I can't imagine anything mid-fermentation tasting anything remotely pleasant...

1.010 might be a better target number. Still pretty sweet, but will have some alcohol too. 1.040 might be a little low octane. And you can always back-sweeten.

I'll go to 1.020 then =) Making this as more of a girls drink for when I have friends over that don't like beer. I feel like the alcohol is going to be too strong
