I am a batch sparger, single infusions. Under the water adjustment tab there is a box to check to add gypsum and CaCl to sparge water. Am I right to assume this is for fly sparging, and isn't necessary to check this box for batch sparging?i have been checking this box but wondering what would the value be for a batch sparger?

That box only has an effect if you are adding lime or chalk to your mashing water. It signals that you want the program to calculate how much more gypsum and/or calcium chloride to add to the sparging water to keep the calcium content of the sparging water at the same level as the mashing water. Since you don't want to add lime or chalk to sparging water (they add alkalinity), you might decide that you want to add the gyp or CaCL2 to make up for that.
