2.9% abv American pale ale heavily dry hopped with falconers flight hops.

Wow looks good. We're you able to keep the body and flavors up to par with the low abv?

I'm interested in low abv brews. I've always been more interested in flavor than being drunk.

You just have to use a few tricks to make sure it doesn't end up too thin or bitter. I've made this recipe twice, using this as guidance.

1. Mash between 155-160
2. Use English yeast with lower attenuation (I used S-04)
3. Use flavorful base malts (This recipe used Vienna malt)
4. Add all hops in the last few minutes of the boil and keep the IBUs fairly low

Despite the very low ABV, this beer placed second in the APA category in a local competition against 27 other beers. None of the judges made any comments about thinness or lack of flavor. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Root Cellar Helles - Munich Helles - brewed to style with Pilsner/Vienna/Munich malts, Tettnanger hops and German Lager yeast. Lagered for 3 months in a 'cave'.

That looks delicious. Mind sharing the recipe?

My Cicada IPA, 6.5% ABV. Smooth and well balanced IPA that's not overly bittering or a hop bomb (Simcoe Hops). It's just smooth and delicious!

My Southpaw Stout. Jet black with tan head. Earthy, chocolate nose. Smooth chocolate coffee taste with a slightly burnt caramel finish. My very first homebrew stout and I am quite pleased.

My Blueberry Wheat. Named it "Sunset Wheat"

Cheers!

Tell us more about this beer! It's blueberry picking season and I'd like to find a good beer/home for a few pounds. :)

This was an extract kit from my LHBS. I cheated and used blueberry extract at bottling. Here's the recipe.
3.3# Wheat LME
3# Extra light DME
1# 2-Row brewers malt
1oz Coriander
1.5 oz. Galena hops
4oz blueberry extract (I used about 3oz)
Wyeast 1010
Add hops at start of 60min boil.
Add coriander at 10min left
Add blueberry extract at bottling
Early bottles were very heavy on the coriander. But that has since mellowed out. Cheers

Smoked Porter.

The Weyermann Rauchmalt was 20% of the grainbill, I'd do 40% next time as the smoke is much more subtle than the Alaskan commercial one. A fine porter otherwise.

I agree. That German rauchmalt is def a subtle flavor that needs quite a bit to come through just right. I need to add more to my dark hybrid lager recipe to make it an American rauchbeir. Good smoke flavor, but not overpowering is a hard balancing act.:mug:

One of the last bottles of my traditional Maibock; from a 15 gallon all grain batch that lagered for three months. I shared this with the office last week along with some growlers from a Denver craft brewery, guess which one they liked better :)

That is a nice looking Mai bock man. I brewed a traditional that I lagered for quite some time as well. Bocks aren't for every one but they are a great change of pace from the hob bomb craze that is going on. (Still love hoppy beer don't kill me!) :drunk:

Oops! 95 F out... 95 C would definitely spoil my cream and brown ales in primary :0)

Nice! The glass too - I would trade a nice Canadian glass for that Sam... I've got an extensive collection... Hit me up if interested...

My belgian golden strong. So golden yellow an fizzy but actually about 2.5 budweisers in one glass. 9.3% abv. Too bad i tried drinking it like it was a bud. That beer and the blazing sun have got me feeling a little buzzed, dehydrated, or both.

My first 5 gallon batch! :ban: This is the NB American Wheat Ale to which I added 2# of honey, clementine peel, coriander and rosemary. This is from the first bottle of the batch ~10 days after bottling. It tasted a little bitter but good. I think another week or two and it will be very good (at least to me!) Cheers! :mug:

Galactic Sumo pale ale. Delicious.

That pick up across the street looks like a micro machine through your glass. I used to love micro machines! Now I love beer. Awesome pic.

What better way to show that the beer is clear? Although for some reason the app rotates my pictures 90 degrees to the right, so I had to take the picture sideways to get it upright. Weird.

A Smoked Honey Weizen. A little bit too smokey for my tastes but the wife likes it so can't complain.

Can you pm me the recipe I havent brewed a Rauchbier yet or found many on the market around my neck of the woods. Looks very good nice picture.

Thanks, you can find the recipe in my recipe drop down menu under my user name. This really is one of my favorite beers that I have done. It was well worth the effort.
