What can be used to make a booster ? I have some priming sugar and light DME sitting around. Can this be used ? How much of what would be needed for a 5 gal batch ? Im mostly doing pail ales,IPAs, amber ales.

Sure, you can use either or both. I would recommend using a brewing software (BeerSmith has a free 30 day trial) when you start adding fermentable sugars and other ingredients. It will help you keep tabs on the other variables too, not just ABV. Corn sugar will certainly boost your ABV, but can reduce the body of your beer and can begin producing off flavors if used too heavy (Think < 10% is recommended, but I'd stay below that).
