So I want to go to a rims system where I have the MT on a propane burner and I circulate the wort using my March 809 pump. I've seen systems where the wort is pumped through a sparge device that sprinkles the wort over the grain bed and this looks good to me but I see that the blichmann auto sparge just dumps it on the top and pushes/circulates it on top of the grain bed. I'm wondering if there are any opinions on useing the auto sparge this way and weather I should just fabricate a sparge to sprinkle over the grain.

Thanks!

I think the autosparge spits it out parallel to the top mash surface. I made a sprinkler out of cpvc and stainless parts, based on a zymurgy gadgets article. Cheap and effective.
