Hi everybody,

Anyone in or near Kinsale? My wife is taking an international assignment just outside of Kinsale and I'm planning to get serious about brewing while I'm there (getting ready to stock up on my all grain equipment right now).

Just browsing online it seems like there are only a few home brew supply shops in Ireland. I'd love to hear back from anyone who knows the best place to get supplies and where I should go looking for brew clubs, competitions, etc.

Cheers,
Jon

I use the home brew company shop. Decent selection of products and E5 courier delivery anywhere in Ireland. http://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/

You can find out more info on the Irish home/craft brew scene here http://www.beoir.org/

In Cork city there is a home brew club that meets up on several Saturdays during the year for brew days in the Franciscan well brewpub http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lee-Brewing-Club/217079661653903

and they are having a home brew expo on June 23rd https://www.facebook.com/events/268943436537180/ with samples of beer brewed by club members and the home brew company on site with supplies for sale.

Also, if you haven't done so yet, pop into Cork city and visit the Franciscan well, the bierhaus, and the abbots ale house. The abbots ale house also has an extensive off-licence and recently received a keg of spelt saison (limited edition brew from trouble brewing http://www.troublebrewing.ie/)

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, Taffman.

I'm nearly ready for my first batch and I'll definitely be checking out thehomebrewcompany.

I just joined beoir.org. It looks like a perfect place to seek out help out for some of the minor problems that have been holding me up.

Disappointed that I missed the home brew expo at Franciscan Well but I'll keep an eye out for upcoming events. It's a very cool brew pub, I'm glad it close to me.

Cheers,
Jon
