I picked up a 3gal corny that was converted to a sanke top, and it had was used for root beer previously. I replaced the o-ring under the spear, but the black rubber ring that the ball is sitting in stinks of root beer.

I dont see an easy way to get that off, and I have no idea where to get another...any ideas?

If I'm stuck, does anyone have a non-smelly sanke spear they don't want? I'll pay for shipping.

I have a spear from a 15.5 gal sanke that I don't know what to do with. It would need to be cut down, but you could have it, just pay shipping.

You could also try looking at http://www.micromatic.com. I've heard they sell keg parts, but I haven't really looked through myself to see for sure.

There is a picture with part numbers that I found on another forum: http://www.probrewer.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=16436

Thanks for the info! I looked at the links, and found the piece... it's the "CO2 Valve - EPDM", but I can't find it online at micromatic or elsewhere (and I actually have no idea how to get it out anyway, without killing myself with the giant springs).

I'm going to soak it for a few days in star san or oxy clean to see if that helps at all. If not, I'll shoot you a PM to see about shipping your spear.

Thanks!
