Remember first I am new to AG, so if my recipe looks to be all jacked up please remember that. I have a pale ale:

9lbs 12oz Pale Malt(2row)
2lbs 8oz Caramel/Crystal Malt-40

.75 oz warrior 60 min
.50 oz Amarillo 10 min
.50 oz Amarillo 5 min

Whirlfloc tab 15 min

WL001

Est OG 1.058
Est FG 1.014
Est ABV 5.7%
40.7 IBU's
SRM of 11
Est efficiency of 72%

It seems simple therefore it probably is but can anyone tell me if my recipe is flawed?

That is way too much crystal. I would use about .5 lbs. Other than that it looks pretty good.

A lot of people are going to say drop the crystal to a lb or less. Replace it with more 2row, Munich, Vienna etc.

I would also add some dry hops, prob 1.5-2 oz.

So all I changed was to now have 11 lbs Pale Ale Malt and only 11 oz of cry-40. Sound good?

Good choice!

This should make a good beer
or at the very least it's starter recipe thet you can
fine tune and adjust as you go a long.

I say go for it!!

Good Luck :)

Tim

Thanks. My goal is to design 5-6 to continuosly have on tap and through the process of time and drinking evolve them into something great instead of just good. PS I sent you a PM drhook... just curious about one other recipe maybe you could weigh in on?
