I am trying to go all-grain and recently purchased a false bottom for my 10 gallon cooler. When I got the false bottom, I noticed that it is distorted and does not fit tightly to he bottom of the cooler. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to bring it back into shape?

You're going to have to try and bend it back into shape somehow. If you're not handy, find a neighbor or freind that is. I'd make that false bottom my *****.
Either that or take/send it back.

I put a large weight on top of the false bottom lying on a flat surface. I figure with time, it will remove the distortion.

I cut out a plastic pail top to fit my false bottom and secured it with little computer screws. It disassembles easily for cleaning and works perfectly. No way for grains to get under the false bottom and clog the outlet.
