Team,

I have been brewing with an immersion chiller for about 5 years. I have been researching picking up a plate chiller, either a Therminator or a Shirron. Can anyone out there provide feedback (positive and negative) of both systems? :mug:

I have heard people complain that both clog easily and they recommend that you filter the wort first. A few even said they went back to a copper tube.

Have you looked into the copper tube inside of a hose? You get the same benefits of the counter flow but they can be fabricated easily and there are no places for trub or yeast to get caught in case some gets out of the brew pot.
